Ojami Series
Inspired by the ancient Japanese beanbag toy, the Ojami Cushion is created with style and comfort in mind. Whether it is used on the floor, as a supportive backrest, or as a statement piece of interior design, the Ojami Cushion is the perfect fit for those who prioritize both function and beauty.
Constructed with a special filling technique that is passed down by Takaokaya's skilled craftsmen, the Ojami Cushion is an iconic piece original to Takaokaya.
The name Ojami comes from the Kansai dialect word which refers to the traditional beanbag toy Otedama. As with the beanbag toy, the Ojami Cushion is made similarly, by sewing four pieces of fabric together creating the signature ojami shape.
We have a collection of more than 50 types of colors and patterns in our cotton fabric collection.
We also offer a wide range of colored fabrics that includes Mura-dyed fabric.
The maker uses special dyeing techniques to create irregularity of streaks that are present in our cotton fabrics.
